Understanding our Sutures

Absorbable Sutures

Absorbable Sutures

PGLA

PGLA Suture is a mid-term absorbable, braided, and coated synthetic suture made from a copolymer of glycolide and L-lactide. PGLA meets the highest standards for surgical sutures, offering a performance comparable to Vicryl®

PGA

PGA is a synthetic, absorbable, braided, and coated suture made of polyglycolic acid (PGA). known for high initial strength and a rate of reabsorption that is well suited to healing processes, ensuring maximum safety expected from synthetic absorbable braids.

PGA - Quick

Quick-PGA is a synthetic, absorbable, braided, and coated suture made of polyglycolic acid (PGA). known for high initial strength and a rate of reabsorption that is well suited to healing processes, ensuring maximum safety expected from synthetic absorbable braids.

PDO

PDO is a synthetic, absorbable, monofilament suture made from polydioxanone, known for its non-antigenic and nonpyrogenic properties. It provides high tensile strength retention over an extended period, with gradual reabsorption, making it ideal for minimizing tissue reactions while ensuring reliable wound support during the healing process.

PGCL

PGCL is a synthetic, absorbable, monofilament suture made from Poly(glycolid-co-caprolactone). It is nonantigenic and nonpyrogenic, ensuring minimal tissue reaction during absorption. With good tensile strength retention and smooth tissue passage, it is ideal for use in surgical applications where minimal tissue irritation and reliable absorption are required. Available in both dyed and undyed options.
